The Joutel Property
is located 6 km west-northwest of the town of Joutel in northwestern
Quebec, 536 km due northwest of Montreal. The Agnico-Eagle
Gold Mine is located 2.4 km to the east-northeast of the claim
block. Past producing mines in the area are the Joutel Copper
Mine (Cu-Zn-Ag) situated approximately 3.5 km to the southeast
and the Poirier Mine (Cu-Zn) situated approximately 3.5 km
to the south.
The Property consists of twenty contiguous
unpatented mining claims covering an area of approximately
320 hectares.
Work Completed by the Company
The Company has completed several geophysical
surveys on the property including IP (at 50 metre and 25 metre
di-pole spacings), Mise-a-la-masse and down-hole pulse surveys.
The general success of these surveys has led to the drilling
in 1995 and 1996 of 15 diamond drill holes for a total of
3,293 metres.
The holes drilled in 1995 encountered what
is believed to be part of a volcanogenic alteration pipe which
is strongly chloritized and injected with semi-massive sulphide
bearing quartz veins and stock works. The zones were 17.5
metres and 12.5 metres in width carrying 0.36% copper and
0.46% copper. High grade zones of up to 5.08% copper across
0.8 metres were encountered within the chloritized pipe. Further
drilling along strike also encountered high grade copper values
as previously noted.
The holes drilled in 1996 resulted in significant
base metal mineralization being encountered in two holes (2.4%
copper, 0.48 g/t of gold and 15.9 g/t of silver over 3.35
metres) and (6.03% copper, 0.226 g/t of gold and 55.9 g/t
of silver over 2.85 metres).
Subsequent to the drilling of the above
holes the Company entered into an option agreement with Rio
Algom Exploration Inc. (“Rio Algom”) whereby Rio
Algom could have earned a 55% interest in the property by
making cash payments of $250,000 and incurring cumulative
exploration expenditures of $2,650,000.

Rio Algom drilled five diamond drill holes
totaling 1,710 metres and expended approximately $160,000.
Three of the holes tested geophysical anomalies on the northwest
of the property. Two holes were designed to undercut previously
identified copper mineralization. None of the holes encountered
any significant mineralization, however, one hole intersected
a 20 metre band of strong hydrothermal chloritic alteration
at depth. Rio Algom decided not to proceed with the option
and handed the property back to Kernow
In May of 1998 the Company entered into an agreement with
Villaret Resources Ltd. whereby Villaret could earn a 50%
interest in the Orvilliers and Joutel properties.
Subsequent to conducting an 18 line kilometre
IP-resistivity survey and drilling three diamond drill holes
for a total of 575 metres Villaret dropped its option in April
2000.
The Company believes that mineralization
similar to that recorded in two holes drilled in 1995 and
two in 1996 may be present at depth (in excess of 500 metres).
There are no known ore reserves on the
Joutel Property.
There has been no work completed
on the property since 2000.
