The Boticas property is held through an Exploration contract with the Government of Portugal which has an anniversary date of October, 10, 2004 . The contract is initially for two years and thereafter can be renewed on annual basis for a further one year at a time. Kernow has committed to complete Euros 45,000 worth of exploration work on the property in the first two years.

Size, Mineralization and Historic Exploration

The Property covers an area of 63.79 square kilometres and within its boundaries are a series of pits and workings excavated for the production of gold during the time of the Roman Empire. The main workings are the “Limarinho” and “Poco das Freitas” pits and they lie within 300 meters of each other at the centre of the property. The Limarinho pit covers an area of some 400 meters in length, 200 meters in width and extends to approximately 30 meters below the original surface. The Poco das Freitas area consists of a series of pits and workings covering an area of approximately 200 meters by 300 meters. Several other workings have been documented on the property to the east and south of these two areas.

Gold mineralisation on the property is associated with Hercynian aged intrusive two mica granites and significant shear zones. The shears are related to a large regional structure known as the Vila Real-Verim fault, which is over 75 kilometres in length. The structure has greatly influenced the emplacement of gold deposits in Northern Portugal and Northern Spain.

Ongoing Exploration and development

The Company has acquired a substantial data package from the Portuguese “Instituto Geologicao e Minerio” (or I.G.M., which is the governmental geological authority). All of the data was generated between 1987 to 1991 by COGEMA (Compagnie Générale des Matières Nucléaires of France). The data was submitted to the I.G.M. by COGEMA in the normal course of maintaining the contract for the property.

The data pack contains drill logs and assays from the 16 diamond drill holes completed on the Limarinho pit and the seven-diamond drill holes completed on the Poco das Freitas pit. The data also contains details of a preliminary metallurgical study carried out on split core samples from hole PF 10 (drilled into the Limarinho deposit and further described below), a structural study of the Poco das Freitas and Limarinho deposits, petrographic and mineralogical studies of samples from Limarinho core samples, maps relating to the location of the drill holes and maps relating to a property wide soil geochemical survey conducted on a 200 meter x 200 meter grid.

Kernow has also obtained the services of the Geology Department, of the University of Porto to assist in the mapping and reconciliation of the data base. This work is underway.

A more comprehensive description of the work completed on the property is available in the Companys’ news Release dated December 16, 2004.
